FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


Hello prospective tenants of the Crestone Apartments in beautiful Salida Colorado, thank you for your interest in our apartments. We offer safe, modern and comfortable housing. We strive to offer the best possible apartment living in the Salida area. In order to do so we must be strict and prompt when enforcing our policies.

  • We demand that our tenants are responsible and respectful to our other tenants
  • We require that rent is paid in full and on time.
  • We require that our tenants take care of the property.

We require a minimum leasing period of one year

Upon the initial review of your applications, if we feel that you will fit our tenant requirements, we will provide you with a method to pay your $ 30.00 background and credit reporting fee.

How do I apply?

Please review our photos, floor plans, and sample documents. Then give us a call at 719.221.6453 to set up a showing. You can download an application on our website and bring it with you. You can also preview our lease on our website.

What are the rental rates?

We have 18 two-bedroom apartments the rental rates vary depending on the specific location.

The 310,318 and 322 Crestone units rent for $ 1,150.00 per month. This includes covered parking of one vehicle and a private storage unit.

The 30 Crestone lower units rent for $ 1,050.00 and the upper floor units rent for $ 1,000.00 per month.

Lease

A sample copy of our lease is available for viewing on our website. This is a minimum of a 12-month lease. In the event of any contradictions between the wording on this FAQ sheet and the Lease, the Lease will prevail.

Pets

We allow one dog OR one cat per apartment, on approval. We allow ONLY one pet. There is a separate $350 NON-REFUNDABLE pet deposit, and we must meet your pet before we sign a lease. Pets must be well behaved, and you must immediately clean up after your pet. Please don’t get a pet without checking with us first. We reserve the right to refuse any pet for any reason (except federally certified service dogs). If any tenant acquires a pet without prior approval, we reserve the right to terminate the lease immediately.

Deposits

We require a deposit equal to one month’s rent, as well as first month’s rent. Both the deposit and the last month’s rent are due at lease signing. First month’s rent is due on or before the move in date. The deposits MAY NOT be used to pay the last month’s rent.

Utilities

Tenants must set up an electric account with Xcel Energy and a natural gas account with Atmos before the move-in date. Atmos accounts are not be required on the 318 and the 322 units. On the 318 and 322 Units, the natural gas is a common meter which is paid by the Crestone Apartments and the tenant will reimburse the Crestone Apartments for their equitable share of this fee. This fee is calculated annually and is currently $ 20.00 month. Water, Sewer, and Trash are initially paid by the Crestone Apartments, the tenant will reimburse the Crestone Apartments for this fee.

  • On the 310 units the common utility fee (water sewer, trash, and common elect) is $ 67.00 per month.
  • On the 318 and 322 units the common utility fee (water sewer, trash, and common elect and natural gas) is $ 87.00 per month.

Charter and CenturyLink are both available for TV and internet service. No inoperative or junked cars or trailers are allowed in the parking lot. No apartment can use more than 2 spaces on a regular basis.

Laundry Facility

There is an on-site coin-operated laundry facility in the 330 Building for the use of the 330 tenants only. The 310, 318 and 322 units have washer and dryer hookups in the individual apartments (washer and dryer is not included)

Smoking

This is a non-smoking apartment complex. No smoking of any kind is allowed inside or within 50 ft of a structure by tenants or their guests. If you or your guests smoke, it must be further than 50 away from any of the buildings. But please be respectful of your neighbors.

Storage

With the 310, 318 and 322 units each apartment has its own lockable, unheated, lockable exterior storage closet the measure 6’ x 9’.
